We met up with a bunch of friends on a cold rainy Friday in San Antonio. We went to this fun place called Funtastic Playland. Max had the best time playing on all of the really neat stuff they had there. I had a great time hanging out with my girlfriends & chatting. I think Max's favorite part was the child-powered train. The kids use their arms to power the train around the track- super cute!

Dean's Baptism
On Sunday January 9th we baptized Dean at our church. Barrett's parents came over, as well as all of my family, along with my Grandpa & Aunt Brenda. So, Dean had a ton of family there to support him. We wanted Max to be a part of this very special event so we let him go to "big church" with us. He got to sit up with the pastor for children's service. Max did really well- he sat up there & actually appeared to pay attention to what the pastor was saying. Max stood us as Dean was baptized & then he went to nursery. After the service we headed over to a local restaurant to celebrate with brunch.

Boo Boo Mommy
Max has become obsessed with band-aids. He has been asking us every morning for a "boo boo band-aid". Santa gave him 2 boxes of Sesame Street band-aids for Christmas & Max loves seeing which character's band-aid he picked out. I don't like having to explain to strangers at Target (& everywhere else) why my son has a band-aid on his forehead. But, a very wise friend of mine told me to just indulge him during this phase because one day he'll be old & won't think Mommy can fix everything with a band-aid & I'll wish my little boy still asked me for one. So, I am now wisely following her advice & loving every time I look over at this sweet little face...

Latest Zoo Trip
Pictures from our latest adventure at the zoo... It was a perfect day & it made me look forward to many more trips to the zoo this spring. & I just love all the pics of Max in his aviator jacket.
& he eats
These pictures are actually from the first time we tried to let Dean eat some food. I believe in waiting to feed solid foods to babies until they are about 6 months & showing signs that they're ready (which is also what AAP recommends). Our pediatrician had told me at Dean's 4 month check-up that we could start him on solids. B & I discussed it & just didn't think he was ready. So we decided to try when he was 5 months. These pictures are from our attempt. Dean was obviously not interested at all in eating food. So we made the decision to wait a couple of weeks.
Dean has now started (very slowly) eating some solids. We started with avocado (the perfect food) & have now moved on to pumpkin. I got the very awesome Beaba babycook machine at Christmas from my mom & can't wait to start using it to make food for Dean. I made Max's food too, but used old fashion steamer baskets & a food processor. I can't wait to use my new fancy baby food making machine!
Happy New Year!!!
We had a fantastic new year's eve this (or is it considered last?) year. Barrett was on-call, but thankfully didn't get called in. We went to our great friends' Amber & David's house, along with a ton of other families. Max lasted until about 9:30. So although the entire Blaue family was in bed well before midnight, we had fun while it lasted... Happy 2011!
