Max & Dean's first trip to the movies
This post is waayyy past-due. Over spring break we had so many fun-filled days. On one of the days I took Max & Dean to their first movie at the movie theater! Max really enjoyed it & did quite well. I walked in totally prepared to have to leave if needed, but Max did great. I took him to see Gnomeo & Juliet & it was in 3-D! Max wore his glasses only about half of the movie. But, I took my glasses off & could see that he could still understand & see it all, but it was a bit blurry without glasses. Kinda like a drunken version of a movie for a 2 year old. Now every time we take a trip to Target (which is next to the movies) Max will remind me of when we went & how much fun he had. One of Max's favorite parts was the dog, which was just like Harley!

the growl
So Max is really into bears & dinosaurs. For awhile now he has a growl that he says is either a bear or a dinosaur depending on the day. He uses his growl to wake people up. So we often play a game where we pretend to sleep & Max growls to wake us up. Max thinks it's hilarious to do this to Dean when he's sleeping in the car- I don't find it as funny- since it results in Dean screaming when he's scared awake.

Fun Field Trip
Last week my friend Lori & I took our 3 boys into San Antonio for a fun-filled field trip. Lori's little boy Briggs is one of Max's favorite friends. They go to school together, we see them every Monday, they were in the same music class together- needless to say we see them most days of the week. So it was pretty fun to load all of us in the car for a fun adventure.
First we visited the Easter bunny! I was so proud of Max- he wasn't scared at all!
Then, we took the boys to Build A Bear. Max's Uncle Mitchell & Aunt Stephanie had given him a gift certificate to Build A Bear for his birthday & we hadn't had a trip to the mall together since then. So what a perfect day to go! Max loved picking out his bear (he chose a panda), stuffing it, & picking out his clothes. Dean picked out "Daddy clothes" - scrubs! So the bear is now named: Daddy Bear (so original), although it has a voice recorder inside with Mommy's voice. Max also made another bear for Dean- he thought it was pretty cool to make one for his brother. Max with his bear before stuffing:

A Fun Day with Friends
A few weeks back we went to Sugar Land for a visit & a chance to celebrate an upcoming wedding with a couple's shower. Saturday morning Max, Dean & I had the opportunity to meet-up with one of my dearest friends & her two kiddos at the Stomping Grounds. This was our first time at the Stomping Grounds & it might be a place we visit each time we come. It's perfect for moms because the kids run around the whole time in a safe environment & there are comfy couches & coffee & food to order. Perfection for catching up with an old friend! Unfortunately I didn't get any pics of our kids together, but here are some of my boys & a rare one of Mommy...

Dean's Eating Habits
Ok so our silly little Dean is such a funny eater. Between every bite he puts his middle 3 fingers (pointer, middle & ring) into his mouth & sucks on them. Every.Single.Bite We all think this is hilarious to watch & oh so cute. It makes a huge mess every time he eats though, but worth it!

Dean is 8 Months Old!
Wow how the time is flying. Dean is already 8 months old. He is such a chunky happy little guy. Dean loves that he can crawl & get the things he wants. This makes Max not very happy. Max is having to learn to adjust to the fact that Dean can crawl & that he's starting to "talk"- which is more like babble. Dean's favorite food (he loves everything), but his very favorite is sweet potatoes. Dean loves shower time & splashing around in the bath. He is still a very snuggly loving baby. He is a joy to our family.

Train Convention
Since Max loved the train convention so much last year I decided to take him again. Barrett was in Vegas, so I brought both boys with me on my own. It was very tough. Max was not in a great mood & he liked seeing the trains, but just did not enjoy it as much as last year. He did enjoy getting to "drive" one of the model trains.

Magik Theatre
There is a children's theatre in San Antonio that puts on plays for kids called the Magik Theatre. I heard they were doing a show called If You Give a Pig a Party- based on the series of books. Max loves the If You Give a Mouse a Cookie & the other books in the series, so I knew I had to bring him. I wasn't sure how he'd do watching an entire performance, but Max loved it! He sat still & his little face lit up throughout the performance. He laughed & clapped & just had a great time.
Afterward we took a very long walk over to the Rainforest Cafe to have a special lunch with friends. Max loved seeing the animals & had a terrific time. He also loved seeing the River Walk. I had to practically drag him away from it, only with promises we'd come back with our friends a different day.
Max & I had special time with our Mommy & Max day. A good friend watched Dean so we could enjoy some special alone time & it was nice for us to just get to hang out together.

A COWBOY!!!
Max is now IN LOVE with the Toy Story movies. He started watching them a couple of weeks ago & now asks to watch it every single day. It started because he's had 2 sippy cups with the Toy Story characters on them for a long time & then his pull-ups have Woody & Buzz Lightyear on them as well. I started feeling guilty that he's probably the only 2 year old that doesn't know who the characters are. So we bought the first dvd & it just took off from there. Over spring break we even went to a viewing of Toy Story 3 at our church. Max had a great time sitting on bean bags & also wrestling with his buddy Briggs while watching the movie.
