Dean Harrison Blaue was born on July 28th at 8:13 am. He weighed 7 lbs 11 oz & was 19 inches long. The c-section went great & Dean is doing well. Max has been a great big brother so far & seems to be very interested in the baby. Here are a few pictures, we'll post more later!

If you bake it, they will come...
Max & I were hosting a play date at our house on Friday. So Thursday I decide to make strawberry cupcakes! (the benefit of hosting the play date is you get to decide what pregnancy craving you're going to give into)... I decided to enlist my littlest helper to help bake the cupcakes. He had a blast helping mommy pour & stir the batter. Max even helped line the cupcake pan with liners. I think he got more joy out of eating the cupcakes though!

Snuggles for Dean
When asked where the baby is Max will point to Mommy's belly & he'll often say hi & wave to Dean. Max also likes to lift my shirt up & give the belly a pat pat or snuggle. Here are some super sweet pictures of Max loving on Dean... Hope Max is this sweet when Dean is actually here!

Max & Harley
My sister came for a visit last week to help me paint a decorative moon on the wall of Max's (soon to be Dean's) room. I'll post & add pictures of that later... Mandy brought along her bulldog Harley with her. Most everyone knows I'm not a big fan of pets in general, but Harley just hung out & barely moved in our laundry room the whole time he was visiting. Gotta love animals that have no energy!
Max loves all dogs, but he got a big kick out of Harley. He really enjoyed imitating his "bulldog noises". Anyone who has been around a bulldog knows that they sound somewhat like a pig snorting as they try to breathe. Well Max thought it was so funny to imitate Harley's breathing. Harley was behind a babygate in our laundry room & Max would sit outside the gate & watch Harley & imitate him. He even sent over his "woof woof" ( a tiny dog he likes to carry around ) & his sippy cup to share with Harley.
So here is a video of Max & Harley... Enjoy!

So Cute
I just have to brag about how cute my little man was going to his girlfriend's birthday party. Max has a little girlfriend named Madi that he loves to play with. Well Madi just turned 2 & had a birthday party. So Max decided he needed to bring her flowers, since it was her birthday. We stopped at the store on the way to the party & had the florist cut down a bouquet to "Madi-sized". He was so cute all dressed up for the party bringing her the bouquet. Unfortunately, my camera messed up & the only pictures I got were of him bringing them to her, not actually giving them to her. Super bummed by that. But you can kind of get the idea...

Children's Museum
Have I mentioned how much we love living in New Braunfels? It is one of the more family-friendly towns I've ever heard of. One of the places Max & Mommy love to visit (Daddy comes along sometimes too) is the Children's Museum in NB. This museum is fantastic & I can't believe it's in our little town. Since our summer has been so rainy it's become one of our favorite afternoon hangout spots. Max especially loves when his girlfriend Madi comes with us. Here are some pics from recent trips to the museum (this should make up for last month's lack of pictures)... Be sure to check out his tongue when he's concentrating!
Train Table Fun
Shopping in the Grocery Store is Mommy's least favorite section... Max acts like he's on one of those game shows where you have to grab as many frozen dinners as possible. But Max has the best time in the grocery store, so I guess I have to just take deep breaths while we're in there.
Dancing & hugging with Madi in front of the bubble screen
Controlling the Space Shuttle
On the Space Shuttle "bed"
A COW! He shouts this every time he sees the cow!
Playing with the Radio (he loves to dance to the music)
& another of his favorite spots- the kayak
In the Hospital Nursery Loving on the Babies (this gives me some hope)
Max & Madi driving the ambulance (Max loves to turn on the lights)
Checking out the fish & alligators in the aquarium

June Recap
So it's been quite some time since I've had a chance to post. Several reasons for this- Max was sick for over a week, then I went on a super fun girls trip to the beach, & we also haven't had many opportunities to take pictures to post (since most of our fun activities are at the pool, Schlitterbahn, etc & I'm not about to bring my camera to those places).
Max being sick- poor little guy came home one of his MDO days with a very high temperature. We took him to his dr who thought he had a virus that was being passed around. By the end of the week he still wasn't better, so I scheduled another appt. Wouldn't you know that he was acting fine & had no temperature at the appt, only to be followed by a high temperature later that afternoon & for the rest of the weekend. By the end of the weekend he was feeling better, but had a horrible rash. So Monday morning back to the dr we went. The rash was caused by an allergic reaction to the medicine he was on (which he had taken before with no problems). So that was definitely one of the longer weeks of my life... I was totally exhausted by the end of the whole ordeal.
The following weekend I got to go to the beach with a group of my girlfriends & stayed at one of my dear friend's beach house down in Port Aransas (thanks again Amber for hosting all of us for the weekend!). It was just what I needed after being on 24 hour a day sick call for a week. Barrett was amazing at keeping Max & entertaining him for a whole weekend all on his own.
So our June photos consist of:
Sick Max sleeping on Daddy (he was so snuggly the whole time he was sick)
Max's Rash (so sad looking, but it didn't bother him at all)
& a couple of pictures from my child-free weekend at the beach! :-)
