Max's Baby

The other day Max got his baby doll & decided to be a little Daddy.  He got him a paci & asked me for a bottle. He pretended to feed him & burp him & even asked for a blanket to swaddle him.  When it was time for us to leave the house to go to a playdate I told Max that the baby had to stay at home & maybe he should have the baby go "night night" in his bed.  I caught Max in his room putting the baby to bed & giving him an Amen (Max's word for a prayer) & a song.  Max loves singing rock a bye baby to Dean & his baby doll...  So cute!  He'll make a great Daddy one day!

Jumpy Place

A new fun place has opened in New B- the Jumpy Place.  We've already been 4 times!  Max loves it!  & this is somewhat shocking because he does not like moonwalks (which is what this place specializes in).  But the place has a ton of other toddler-friendly things to play with/on.  He has so much fun running around & playing there & I love how mom-friendly it is.  Free coffee, comfy sofas, & friends to chat with= a perfect morning in my opinion!  Oh, & they even have a real highchair, changing table, & an exersaucer for Dean!

Daddy came with us on a Saturday!

How we survived the Cold...

Last week we had 3 stay-at-home days (which is absolutely crazy unless Max is sick).  But between the ice & 1 SNOW day, we just couldn't leave...

It went a little something like this- Wed we were supposed to go to Houston, but the heater broke & the pipes outside froze, so we couldn't leave.  My thoughts- can't leave- holy cow I might go insane- an entire day at home- how can that be- will I go crazy?!  Survived Wed knowing that Thurs Max would go to MDO the next day.

Thurs morning 30 mins before we leave for school I get a call that the pipes are frozen at the church & MDO is canceled.  My thoughts- holy cow!  ANOTHER day at home?  Can I even do this?  I thought I used up all my tricks yesterday for keeping him entertained.  Can I possibly do this again?!

Friday- still reallllly yucky- shouldn't leave the house (& Barrett pretty much told me I couldn't).  My thoughts- I can do this- I'm a pro- I've stayed at home 3 whole days in a row!

Saturday- so thankful that I had a bridal shower to go to in Boerne & therefore a reason to necesitate me leaving the house!

So this is how we survived:  Tuesday while Max was at MDO I decided a trip to Hobby Lobby was in order.  I needed to stock-up our art cabinet with supplies.  I got a ton of fun new things Max has never gotten to use before, as well as some fun Valentine's Day crafts.  So over the course of all of our stay at home days we were able to keep ourselves entertained with lots of fun craft activities.  I'll post a few pictures of what all we made.  By the way- I wish I could claim that I had planned out getting that cabinet all stocked-up for us having to stay at home, but it was totally coincidental, but a great lesson learned that I should probably keep it stocked for emergencies!  I even had a craft project left-over from a bday party we had gone to in Oct that hadn't been created- thank goodness for procrastinating on that one!

So today when we got faced with another stay-at-home day what did I do?!  I did not freak out!  & we had another fantastic day at home & created more memories.  I'm so blessed to get to share the days with these two fantastic boys...

Some of Our Craft Projects:

SNOW & Ice...

Max woke up the morning there was snow & came to our room like he does every morning.  For some reason he actually decided to look out the windows even though this is not something he typically does.  When he looked outside he said A SANDBOX

I think he ended up being disappointed that snow is COLD (he must be my child).  Max really didn't want to be outside in the cold & didn't think it was very fun.  Max has actually seen snow all 3 winters since he's been born though (crazy with us living in Texas!)  Dean was very curious when I took him outside & looked so cute bundled up.

Dean- 6 Months

Holy Moly- how is Dean already 6 months old?!  The time is flying by.  What's even crazier is that he turned 6 months old 2 weeks ago- I'm so late in doing this post...

Dean's 6 month check-up stats: 25 in, 16.3 lbs (he's a pound heavier, but shorter than Max was at the same age)

Dean is enjoying eating solid foods, but doesn't love it near as much as his brother did.  He loves to jump in his bouncy jumperoo.  Dean is really working on trying to crawl & practices all the time.  He can get to where he wants by rolling & scooting & doing all sorts of other motions to get around.  Dean loves to watch his big brother play & do fun things- I really think he just soaks in all the "knowledge" that Max shares with him.  Dean is getting much better at sleeping & is such a happy baby.  & he's a pretty big flirt- all the ladies love him.
