Dean & School

Let me start by saying Dean loves his school.  He loves his teachers & his best friend Cash.  He loves to play on the playground, go to Growing Gruene Beans (the little exercise program they have), & his favorite part of the day is lunch.  However, he really struggled at the beginning of the school year being separated at drop off.  He sometimes refused to participate in the learning activities & craft projects.  I finally decided right before Christmas that we needed to do some sort of positive reinforcement with him for going to school.  We created a little sticker chart for Dean.  He can earn up to 4 stickers a day by doing the following: (1) going to school without pouting or crying, (2) participating (crafts, learning, etc), (3) play with a new friend- he had been refusing to play with anyone other than his friend Cash, & (4) leaving blue puppy at home.  Dean was super motivated to get all of his stickers because he was working to earn the Scooby Doo gang toys to go with the Scooby Doo mystery machine he got for Christmas from Mitchell & Stephanie.  He did great & the week after his accident he was able to collect his prize.  We are now on our third sticker chart & I've been so proud of him & how far he has come.
