Pappy = Babysitter Extraordinaire

I went to Houston last weekend to help my mom shop for a dress for Ryan & Laura's upcoming nuptials.  We had a great time, but were pretty sure Max wouldn't last in & out of clothing stores all day.  Ryan & Laura were going to look after Max for me, but since they were busy unpacking & organizing their absolutely beautiful new home, that's where Pappy comes in.  My dad kindly offered to take care of Max for the day, but I (& Mom) could tell he was a tad nervous.  What clued us in?- him asking how long we'd be & what to do with him.  After giving him a ridiculous amount of instructions, leaving him with disposable diapers (didn't want to push it with cloth), we headed out.

What all Max & Pappy did that day I can only imagine based on the stories I was told.  But it sounds like they both had a blast pal-ing around Roadrunner.  Pappy took Max into the warehouse & let him watch the forklift & even honk the horn, they took a visit to the shop, went to a convenience store in search of animal crackers, & then off to the grocery when none could be found.  My dad said that he was surprised when Max out-ate him in animal crackers (I wasn't surprised).  & then Pappy let Max "organize" his desk.  Max must have had fun, because when we got home he had passed out into a long nap after the grilled cheese Pappy had made him for lunch.  Thanks Pappy for helping us out so we could have a shopping day.  (oh & yes Mom found a dress, plus a few more just for fun!)
