RSV = Quarantined

On Thursday Max woke up with a gross sounding cough.  Thankfully, I'm married to Barrett because I would have just waited to see if he got over it.  But, my husband wants me to take Max to the doctor if he sneezes too many times in one day.  So, Barrett convinced me to bring him into our pediatrician.  I am *so* thankful I did because Max was diagnosed with RSV!  The PA said that the test strip was very faint, meaning he either has a mild case of it or we caught it early.  RSV has been going around New B like crazy lately & I know a couple of girls with little bitty babies who have been hospitalized (so it was scary hearing this diagnosis).

The treatment- breathing treatments- hmmmm...  How would Max do with this?  Well the first two treatments were nightmarish.  But, with a puzzle, some books & a lot of patience on both his & my part we've gotten the treatments down.  Max has to have 3 treatments today, & as long as he continues to do well we shouldn't have to increase the amount.  We'll go back to the dr on Monday to see how he is doing.

But what does this mean for us?  Well it means we missed a super-fun trip to the zoo on an absolutely perfect for the zoo weather day on Friday with a bunch of friends...  & no MDO for Max next week (which means no break for me & a look into what this summer will be like).  & no socializing for the week.  What are we going to do with ourselves?  Thankfully Max is acting completely normal (which makes it harder to be stuck at home though).  You wouldn't even know he was sick except every now & then he coughs (seriously it's like 1 cough an hour).

Pictures of Max getting his breathing treatments (warning these are quite sad)
